The Shape of Happiness is a recently rediscovered tankobon (collection) of comic stories based on Nintendo properties, released in March 1989. The ninth, tenth and eleventh stories in this anthology are based on the original Metroid. It was never officially released in English. The comics were drawn by Tamakichi Sakura, who later authored the Super Mario World comics in Nintendo Power.
